Tendon adhesions can form after trauma or surgery to the hand. Tendon-gliding exercises help prevent or reduce them by moving each tendon through its greatest range of motion. They also help reduce hand swelling.
Think of them this way: tendon-gliding exercises are as important to the hand as aerobic exercise is to the heart.
Part 1 walks through the first positions of the sequence. Move slowly, stay within a comfortable range, and stop if you feel sharp pain. If you're recovering from a hand injury or surgery, check with your physiotherapist before starting.
